Indonesian Govt to Remove Food Import Duty

The import duty removal is included as short-term policies.

The government prepares to free 30 posts of food products from import duty as an attempt to make stable the soaring food prices.

Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Hatta Rajasa, said the policy is issued to anticipate the coming food crisis. However, the government pledges that the policy will still guarantee the continuance of domestic industry.

Hatta said in statement that the import duty removal is included as short-term policies.
