Head of the Supreme Court, Harifin Andi Tumpa, expects the public to monitor tax court reform instead of being glued to the corruption case involving Gayus Tambunan.

"However, the crime committed by Gayus must be solved," said Harifin today, Jan 21.

"People have seen how our tax system is terrible. Apart from poor monitoring, the tax court is under performance," said Harifin.

Harifin suggested that Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) intervene in tax reform. Nonetheless, such reform will be useless if Directorate General of Taxes restrict access toward it.
